Regional Profile
A closer look at the beautiful countries of South East Asia where Interserve Partners work, reveals great poverty, injustice and great spiritual need! The religious make-up of this region is varied with Buddhism prominent and Islam also strong in some countries. The Church in many places is young, mostly small and often under severe persecution. In this, the newest region where Interserve places staff, the challenges are great but the opportunities for service far greater.
Many of our Partners work to assist children at risk, women who have been trafficked, victims of the AIDS pandemic and also various development programs. We have witnessed dramatic growth and impact of ministry in these countries in recent years. It is a real compassion for the poor and a deep desire to share Christ that makes the difference.
