Maria’s story
“I love to see the joy in my employers’ eyes…they took someone from absolutely nothing at all, and taught her how to grow.” Maria's story // Arab world

Conversations about food and faith
I remember it clearly. My simple stir-fry had opened up a genuine and open conversation with a stranger about my faith in a God who loves and cares for the amazing world He has created. How did that happen?!

Listening with respect
They entered sad and left smiling. To be listened to with respect and cared for was a new experience for them.

Unfolding through God’s hands

Gaining workplace skills to support their family
Newly married Mahmoud has begun training as a coffee roaster – and he’s doing brilliantly!

God went ahead of us
We were absolutely delighted with the amazing, warm hearted and friendly responses from asylum seekers.

Living an Abundant Life
Equipping refugees with mental health skills, for more abundant life

God’s love overcomes fear
Our business brings together people from marginalised backgrounds and provides a safe space for training and discipleship.

Doing the small things with great love
This unusual time has brought a variety of unique challenges that significantly impact our residents.

Serving our country
For us as a family, life is taking a different pace.

Hearts in colours
We spread out paper and simple art supplies. Nothing is complicated or technical, but to these women whose daily lives are shaped by displacement and feelings of helplessness, gentle guidance is necessary as we begin to transform blank pages with colour and form.

Mary’s story

Rahul’s story
“Working here provided the money to go to school, and now I have finished university.” Rahul's story // Cambodia

God is moving
"I didn’t want to be alone anymore. I was so lonely I was ready to befriend anything that moved."

Home at last
"There are many beautiful stories of change in this place, where lives are being impacted and empowered to be a blessing to others. Those who have had so little physically have hearts overflowing with gratitude and giving."

On Track to Pakistan
Sustainable mission is about a team, not individualism, and if you can help prevent others from burning out by covering for colleagues to go on a long-deserved holiday, reducing patient waiting-lists or changing the frequency of on-calls from one-in-three to one-in-four, then this should not be underestimated.

Getting out the gate
We made a point of going outside the gate: going to the market, stopping for cups of tea, home visits at times of sickness and loss, attending celebrations and invitations for meals.

Borderlands
We need people skilled in understanding complex social, multi-cultural and multi-linguistic contexts. We need to mobilise those who are willing to live far from the ‘happening places’ in mission and be in for the long haul to be a part of community transformation.

Second chances
For the first time Sarah didn’t feel despised or discriminated against. Gradually she started to smile more, chat with other parents and, most importantly, enjoy her relationship with her son.

Realising you are the problem
“Culturally, it was incredibly challenging for Sokly to ask me to release her into her role.”
