As soon as we started the official quarantine, several concerns came to my mind about my family back in my home country. Feelings of anguish and anxiety were flowing through me, but I was able to find rest in God.
While this was going on, I understood that I should seek creativity and wisdom to continue serving in my ministry for immigrant and refugee families. With some families, the work with video calls, messages and phone calls have been going very well. Sadly, with one family it hasn’t worked so well, so I would appreciate prayers for that. However, I am satisfied because it is still possible for relationships to grow with these families.
“Covid-19 has shown me that it is a time to demonstrate the kingdom of God in crisis.”
In this time of crisis, I realized that I could serve the people around me, and friends who are entirely isolated, by doing their shopping. I have also helped with a church project where we have been serving food, through a window of the church, to homeless people—doing so within hygiene guidelines.
Covid-19 has shown me that it is a time to demonstrate the kingdom of God in crisis. It is a time to learn more from God and grow in my relationship with Him by trusting in His faithfulness.
