“I saw God touch my life.”
Lachie’s story // Asia
“I’m 29 years old and I’m the café manager. Before I started work here I had three jobs a day. That made me sick and I had to go to hospital. When I was sick, so many of God’s people helped me. I thought, ‘Why? This is not my family. Why do they do this for me?’ God answered me, ‘Being Christian is the same as family. We take care of everyone and we love.’ That’s where I saw God touch my life.
I think God is still working at the café. I am very happy about one person. When she started here, I was just talking to her about what God is doing in my life. Then she went home and talked about Jesus with her family. This is really amazing for me. I’d like everyone at the café to see that God is doing something in real life, that he loves this family, and see why we believe in this God.”
The business helps young women escape unsafe work. On Valentine’s Day, Lachie spoke to the women about what love is, and how he strives to love his wife as Jesus loves us. That day, he told his wife for the first time that he loves her. Lachie is now able to provide well for his family. He has become a leader in his community, regularly called upon to deal with issues in the village.
