Maya often hosts her new friends in her Queensland home.
Malika, Marwan, Dayyan and Sahar have come to Australia as refugees, after experiencing cruel persecution in the Middle East. They need friendship, healing and hope as they rebuild their lives – and this is where Maya and others come in: patiently listening, offering practical help, and sharing the love of Jesus.
Earlier this year, Maya began a Christianity Explored course with her friends. Malika is very warm and accepting of what she has heard. Marwan thinks we just follow a different religion, and he follows his. Dayyan has missed some sessions due to illness. Sahar wants to know more before she’ll believe.
