Welcome to 2021, a long-awaited milestone as we move forward from a challenging 2020. But as we are starting to realise, just because the calendar has ticked over, it does not mean the challenges of the year are behind us.
We continue to see changing restrictions and border closures across the country. In a way, things feel much the same. We are all feeling uncertain as we adjust to a new way of life because 2020 has been like no other year we remember.
If you, like me, have a tendency to feel weary and discouraged, I want to share with you a powerful
mantra that has stuck with me over many months that came from Christine, our National Director, last
June. “The world will change, but God won’t change”. This simple truth has provided me with the
encouragement to persevere, to lean into God’s goodness, to pray and to be faithful amid sadness,
disappointment, and frustration. I pray that it will for you too.
Like us, our Aussie Partners are coping with the uncertainty of current circumstances. Updates from
each Partner have a common thread even though everyone is facing a unique set of circumstances. That
commonality is faith in a God who is sovereign and good.
“Updates from each Partner have a common thread even though everyone is facing a unique set of circumstances. That commonality is faith in a God who is sovereign and good.”
God has not changed. The truth of the hope of our Saviour Jesus Christ has not changed. Our Partners continue to serve wherever they are as they seek to share that hope with a hurting world.
Their example encourages me to persevere with my daily challenges. Their faith prompts me to pray for them and like-minded workers. Their love for their community stirs me to shine as a light in my local area, even as I stay near home and wear a mask everywhere I go.
Each of us can find peace and purpose every day through living out our faith: not dwelling on uncertainty but choosing to trust God through it.
On my kitchen wall is a clock that presents a daily refreshment from a paraphrase of Lamentations 3:22–23: “His mercies are new every morning!”. May we remember this truth each day as we live, breathe, love, work, serve and rest.
We want you, our supporters to know that you are an indispensable part of our community now more than ever. We need you, and hopefully you need us! Your prayers and support are invaluable, and as you learn about our work, your faith will be forever changed.
“We want you, our supporters to know that you are an indispensable part of our community now more than ever. “

Whether you’re a new supporter, a former mission Partner, a long-term team support person, or just an interested reader, may Jesus’ promise give you a renewed hope in an ever-changing world:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
