Serving refugees in the Arab world
A short-term team serving with the local church
December 2018 – January 2019
A small team is visiting to join in their work for two weeks.
Are you considering long-term service to this region?
The purpose of this trip is to contribute to the church’s outreach to Syrian refugees. Our main task will be teaching conversational English to refugees, almost all of whom will be Muslim. This may be challenging work.
We are looking for people who are willing to trust God in difficult circumstances. It is for committed Christians who want to grow in their faith. This is not a holiday nor simply an exposure trip.
We will be staying in accommodation arranged by the church. It will not be high quality accommodation – the living conditions may be quite sparse, and the food will be different from what you are used to. It will be winter, and could be quite cold.
This trip stretched us, challenged us and showed us that God certainly is working in and through His people and pouring out His love in this seemingly dry and desperate place.
