We are seeking an Expression of Interest from suitable persons who are passionate about mission, enthusiastic about Interserve’s distinctives and values, and dedicated to the mobilisation and care of mission workers.
Interserve is a global community of ordinary Christians taking action in faith. We are involved in bringing tangible love, social change and spiritual transformation to lives and communities. By God’s grace, people encounter the gospel as we share our lives, skills and experience. We choose to work among the most marginalised people in the regions of the world where we can make a real difference: the Arab world and Asia. Although in many places here the church is young, persecuted or under-resourced, we intentionally partner with the church – serving together, training, mentoring and encouraging. We walk alongside our brothers and sisters, we make disciples who love their neighbours, irrespective of race, gender or creed. These local Christians become faith and action in their own communities, often with extraordinary impact.
The Personnel Manager (PM) is a 0.6 – 0.8FTE negotiable role responsible for overseeing the provision of member care for Interserve personnel mobilised from within Victoria and Tasmania. A largely relational role, the PM journeys with those interested in mission service from their initial inquiry through our application processes, placement and then on return and resettlement on completion of overseas service. The PM Vic/Tas will be a part of the Personnel Team within the National Office.
The PM will have Theological and Missiological training and experience, leadership and Christian ministry experience, and have lived and worked in a cross-cultural setting internationally. Skills and experience in pastoral care or member-care are essential.
